About us
Maison Oberweis was born from a Luxembourg family history deeply rooted in its territory. Discover the key moments that have shaped our company through six decades of passion.
The beginning of the family adventure
The year 1964 marked the beginnings of Maison Oberweis with the opening of the first pastry shop by Monique and Pit Oberweis in the Limpertsberg district. Pit crafted his chocolate creations in a small workshop located above the shop, while Monique handled deliveries... on a Vespa !

The 2nd generation continues the family legacy
Second-generation pastry chefs Tom and Jeff Oberweis joined the family business alongside their parents. The two brothers trained at prestigious establishments in France, Belgium, and Germany. With the help of their wives, they continued to develop the business by opening new stores across Luxembourg.

The title ‘Supplier to the Court'
After ten years of delighting the eyes and palates of the Grand Ducal Family of Luxembourg, Maison Oberweis was awarded the prestigious title of ‘Supplier to the Court' (Fournisseur de la Cour). A true recognition for the small family business, which continues to honor this title.
2021
Bean to Bar chocolate
After several journeys to the heart of cocoa plantations, Jeff and Tom Oberweis embraced the “Bean to Bar” concept. From bean to bar, this artisanal approach ensures mastery of every step, from selecting the cocoa beans to crafting the chocolates, emphasizing traceability, respect for producers, and the richness of the origins. Today, Oberweis is one of the few chocolate makers in Luxembourg to produce its own Bean to Bar chocolate, a true symbol of excellence and passion.
2022
The journey continues with the 3rd generation
Heirs to two generations of bakers, pastry chefs, and caterers, Bob and Louis, sons of Tom, and Joé, son of Jeff, join Maison Oberweis in their turn. Alongside their parents, they continue the family legacy today, driven by the same love for the craft and a constant pursuit of excellence.
